Adult Classes

City Shul offers adult learning opportunities for all levels, from a Basic Judaism class to advanced studies. Shabbat evenings and mornings include Torah study. We also have adult programming that stimulates intellectually and builds social connections. and We encourage your ideas for adult learning and programming. Adult Education Classes

Classes meet at City Shul, 300 Bloor Street West 
Torah and Haftarah Trope - with Cantor Cheryl Wunch
If you can read Hebrew fairly well (fluency is NOT required) and can hold a tune, we want to get you into our Torah and haftarah readers corps! Class is free for members who will make a commitment to read Torah or haftarah at shul several times a year. Non-members are welcome at $100 tuition.
Monday nights, April 1 to May 13 (with an option to extend), 7:30 to 9 pm.

Beginner Hebrew: Demystifying the Aleph-Bet" taught by Yonah Sienna
Whether you've never learned an aleph from a bet, or just need a refresher, Beginner Hebrew will give you the tools to recognize letters and vowels, sound out syllables, and start recognizing the patterns in common Hebrew words and phrases in just four weeks!

Men’s Lunchtime Chavurah (Friendship Group)

Meeting once a month, times and places to be determined, the goal of the group is to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for open discussion as well as foster new friendships among men who are City Shul members. Conversations will range from current events to life issues, including lots of thought and lots of laughter. Women's Chavurah

A once a month Friday night Shabbat dinner in member's homes for City Shul women to foster new friendshipsin a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and discuss issues of special relevance and interest to women. Always accepting new participants! Contact Rivka.

La'asot Chayim

A group for Jews in their 20s and 30s to come together to actively engage in building community and exploring what it means to be a Jew in today's world. Join our FB page!
