Shabbat Shira - Saturday, January 31 - 10 AM

On January 31, City Shul celebrates Shabbat Shira - our Shabbat of Song!

On this morning, we will chant from the Torah, recalling when the Israelites crossed the sea and sang as they celebrated their redemption. Don’t miss this music-filled service, in which we will sing with them, featuring:

Shirat HaYam, the Song of the Sea, chanted by Rabbi Crawley and Hazzanit Abrams

Our Shira Harmony Group, led by Stephen Reich

City Shul’s unique Guitar Ensemble; and

    A Mi Chamocha Medley

Bring your family and friends and add your voice to the joyous cacophony of

melody…and harmony!

Tot Shabbat will begin at 10:30 AM, led by Brad Wentworth, and children will be invited to March with the Torah, and will also receive a special blessing and treat from Rabbi Crawley after it is chanted.

Kiddush Lunch for all following the service.

Registration is not required.

Are you interested in exploring congregational life in Toronto, but unsure of what might be a good fit for you/your family?

Are you anxious about stepping into a new synagogue space for the first time? Come explore Toronto’s synagogues with your Jewish& community. Together we will scout out different services, experience what they have to offer, and hear directly from their leadership about how they are welcoming Jewish & (interfaith / mixed heritage / multicultural etc.) people and families into their communities.

Bring your curiosity and your questions, and let’s explore!

Please reach out to Lauren Schreiber Sasaki, at the MNJCC, with any questions you may have. LaurenS@mnjcc.org

There will be a Kiddush lunch for all following the service, along with an opportunity to speak to Rabbi Crawley and members of our Leadership Team, with any questions they may have about City Shul.
