Shabbat Special Event: Jewish Studio Process with Sharoni Sibony

Spring is full of questions in bloom -- gateways to new possibilities, a reaching beyond the self. And Passover presents us with a dedicated night of questions, giving us a chance to envision a more just society as we retell the Jewish Exodus story of liberation and longing. What are the questions you're holding this year? Join us for an alternative Shabbat morning with contemplative creativity that explores the nature of questions. We'll follow the steps of the Jewish Studio Process, a unique methodology combining practices from the field of art therapy with a reimagined approach to Torah learning, to cultivate our inherent creativity as a spiritual practice.

Who is Sharoni Sibony?

Sharoni Sibony is a lover of metaphor, a possibilitarian, an educator, artist, creative facilitator, and a Jewish community organizer. She has been a lecturer, tour guide, pottery instructor, and book club facilitator in various venues across the Toronto community (and beyond) and has worked and volunteered in Jewish adult educational programming and event management through organizations that include Kolel at the Prosserman JCC, the Miles Nadal JCC, Ashkenaz Festival, Holy Blossom Temple, and Limmud Toronto. She is a Jewish Studio Project facilitator and runs a monthly Shabbat "Restorative Creativity" practice at the Miles Nadal JCC.

Additional Information:

Will I get messy? Most people don't get messy, so there is no need to show up in an “old shirt”. You may be working with glue and cut paper or stickers, or if you would like to work with paint, it will be in a controlled space. Gloves are not required. You are welcome to take home your completed piece of artwork - you may want to bring along a disposable shopping bag to carry your artwork home in.

Sharoni is asking for a few volunteers to help her set up before the event begins at 10 am, and a few more to help her pack everything up at noon.

The event concludes with Hamotzi and Kiddush, followed by some light snacks.

The event will not be live-streamed. Shabbat Special Event Kiddush sponsors are welcome - click HERE to donate.

Adults only. Registration is capped at 12 participants.

Please note: No recording of the event is allowed.
