Tuesday, June 6, 2023 17 Sivan 5783

7:30 PM - 9:00 PMThe location will be emailed to registrants a few days in advance.

Through the personal story of Dr. Ralph Folman, born in the Warsaw ghetto, and an exciting historical exploration by prof. Hanna Yablonka, we will honour the courage and resilience of the Jewish resistance fighters who took a stand against Nazi oppression, and explore the ongoing impact of their struggle.

Ralph Folman’s family members joined the Dror youth movement and were among the founders of the Dror high school in the ghetto. They fought in the uprising and one family member was a courier for the underground. Ralph will share his story as well as his experience lighting the torch at the Ghetto Fighters’ House Ceremony for Holocaust Remembrance Day. Prof. Yablonka’s account will deepen our understanding of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, enrich our commemoration of the 80th year of the Uprising and strengthen our commitment to Holocaust education and remembrance.

The Ghetto Fighters’ House was established in 1949 by Holocaust survivors, among them survivors of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, and is among the first museums of its kind.

Since its inception, the museum’s founders, sought to tell the story of the Holocaust, focusing on Jewish resistance in all its forms, moral choices, and the triumph of the human spirit, while fostering humanism and democratic values.

Join us for this unique perspective.  Members only.

This event is limited to 18 people so please register early.

The location will be sent out to registrants a few days in advance.
