This unique day trip includes:
1. Ferry - 10:30 AM Ferry from the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal to Ward's Island
2. Arrival - Linda Rosenbaum is City Shul member. She lives on the island, and will greet you once you arrive.
3. Torah Study - Rabbi Garry Loeb will lead a Torah Study. This will be followed by Kaddish
4. Lunch - BYO (Bring Your Own) Picnic Lunch
5. Walking Tour - Linda and her neighbor Susan Roy will take you to see homes, gardens, green spaces and historic buildings on Ward's and Algonquin Islands.
You will learn about the community’s 150 year-history and what it’s really like to live in the middle of a park with no stores or personal vehicles. Get a real "insider's" tour of this end of the Island community and unusual way-of-life.

The Fine Print:
1. How to get there:
The Jack Layton Ferry Terminal is located at the foot of Bay Street on Queens Quay. Make sure to take the ferry to Ward’s Island (not Centre or Hanlan’s). It leaves every hour and takes roughly 15 minutes. You can catch the 9:30 and walk around or get a coffee at the cafe before the event or catch the 10:30.
The Jack Layton Ferry Terminal can be reached by TTC (subway, streetcar, and bus), by GO Train, by car, by taxi, by Uber, by bicycle, or on foot. Google maps - HERE
2. How to buy ferry tickets:
You can buy advance tickets online. If you have an advance ticket, the ticket booth on the left is for people with prepaid tickets.

3. Suggested items to bring along
A picnic lunch
Sunscreen, hat, comfortable walking shoes
Cold water for the walk
Optional - a blanket to sit on
