Shulcloud Membership Platform

ShulCloud is a membership platform used by City Shul and over 900 other congregations in North America.

Within this platform, we operate our website, schedule events, manage our membership, send out e-mails, confirm donations, billing and many other functions.

YOUR custom ShulCloud account, which is mobile friendly, allows you to pay fees online, update information for you and your family, manage yahrzeits and more - all integral to streamlining your account with City Shul.

Below is an image of the main page on www.CityShul.com, showing you the various headers (Home, About Us, Services etc.) and where you can navigate within the website.

Do I have an account on ShulCloud?

IF you are a current member of City Shul - you have an account.

Do NOT register for an account if you have one set up - this will not work if you use the same email address - if you use another email address, this creates a duplicate account, which is not necessary.

IF you have done any of the following, starting in 2020, it's likely you have an account:

1. Made a donation to City Shul

2. Bought High Holiday tickets

3. Registered for an event or a class at City Shul

We began using ShulCloud in 2019 - but some records may not have been transferred - so if you are not a member, and have not made a donation or paid for a class or event, you will likely NOT have an account on ShulCloud.

IF you are not a member, but receive our monthly newsletter (City Shul Shulette), your information may not be in ShulCloud, since the newsletter is sent out from Mailchimp, another platform.

What if I have an account, BUT I forgot my login credentials (my email, my password). Should I just set up a new account?

Login to www.CityShul.com (an image is below - this is on the top right hand of our homepage)

Try logging in with the email that you most commonly use. At this point, if your email is correct, and you forgot your password, your password will be reset by ShulCloud.

IF you cannot remember your password - before you set up a new account - email the office HERE and our Synagogue Administrator, Barb Wiseberg, will check, using your full name, if you have an account.  She can also change the email address on your account - and then you can login again with your existing password

IF you do not have an account - and would like to become a member, buy High Holiday tickets, register for an event or a class, or make a donation, then you would set up a new account.

Who can see the information in my account? Do you share this information with anyone else?

All data in your account - personal and financial information - is safe and secure.  ShulCloud - as the name implies - stores the data on cloud based software.  At City Shul, only the Treasurer and Synagogue Administrator have access to the account. Other members cannot access your personal data, and we do not share your information with external parties.

The only exception to this is ARZA (Association of Reform Zionists of America). If you are a member of City Shul, you are encouraged to join ARZA on your Annual Membership Renewal Form.  If you choose to donate, we share your first/last name, and email address with them. This information is fully transparent and will be outlined on this document.

What can I do in my Shulcloud account?

Click "My Account" and you will find 9 options. Here you can edit and update your personal information, make payments or donations, manage your family yahrzeits and more. Hover your arrow over each button to find out what it does, then click and you are ready to go!

An image of this screen is below:

Your customized ShulCloud Profile

In your account, click on "My Profile" (you can see this in the image below, in the top row). Click on My Profile, review all fields, and update any out-of-date information.

IF you are having any issues or have any roadblocks, remember to send an email to the office HERE, and Barb will be able to assist you.

Below is a screenshot of Barb's personal account, as an example:

My Family

On this dashboard you can see who is listed in your family, the primary contact, and add people to your family account. Click on “Add a person” to add individuals like your parents or children.

Note that within the framework of ShulCloud, some family situations are a bit more complicated, such as:

1. Divorced, separated, or non-cohabitating parents - where both parents pay a portion of school fees, B'Mitzvah Fees, etc.

2. Members with adult children who reach the age of 26, and are no longer included in a "Family Membership"

3. A family in which only one person is a member, and the spouse/partner is not a member

4. Step-children listed in 2 or more accounts

Different families/individuals may require some additional guidance from the office. In cases where the platform cannot accommodate a unique situation, the office has the ability to add private notes to your account, to ensure that your account is reflective of your situation.

A screenshot of Barb's family, where her son is under 25, is below:

My Yahrzeits

You can manage your family's Yahrzeit records, check when a loved one will be remembered and more. To add yahrzeit;s to your account, click on the ‘My Yahrzeits’ icon.

Take a few moments to ensure your records are complete, and make any necessary corrections or updates. Different City Shul members may include the yahrzeit for an individual in their personal account - each person will receive an individual email before the yahrzeit is being acknowledged.

If you have other people that you want to remember with a yahrzeit who are not in your immediate family, you can add them here as well.

ShulCloud will calculate the Hebrew date from the English date you enter OR the English date from the Hebrew one.

Below is a screenshot, showing an example of a Yahrzeit from Barb's family.

Financial Transactions

With ShulCloud, you manage all your financial transactions - donations, Membership Dues, Billing Statements etc. Hover your arrow over each button to see your account activity, add a payment method, make a donation.

Below is a screenshot to show you how this page looks.  As always, if you need any assistance, or would like an explanation of the transactions in your account, please reach out to the office.

Tax receipts for the previous year are sent out by email, by February of the following year.

Online Payments

Click "Type" and you can select your payment type, donation, membership dues, etc. add your donation dedication, notes for your account records, and more.

All donations are acknowledged in our monthly newsletter, City Shuletter. Please indicate on our donation form under "comments" if you do NOT wish to be acknowledged in this column for any donation. We do not send out paper copies to individuals acknowledging your donation.

Recurring Payments

You are able to schedule your recurring dues payments by clicking this icon. Add your payment method and select your frequency.

Note that this feature is available for membership dues, school fees and selective classes - it is not available for all classes or any events.
