City Shul School Registration 2023/24 DJCS

Note:
This form is exclusively for former students of DJCS (Downtown Jewish Community School) who will be in Grade 4 to pre B'Mitzvah (Grade 7) during the 2023/24 school year.

City Shul requires that Educational Assessments and the suggested modifications and/ or accommodations found therein be shared confidentially with the Director of the School. We strive to differentiate learning and help our students meet with success as best as we can during our school time.

1. Please complete the City Shul application first with payment. 

2. Visit www.ujacommunityscholarships.ca 
to fill out your subsidy application. 
Please note that the UJA Community Scholarship site is now open to accept applications for the 2023-2024 coming school year! We normally find out from UJA if you have received a subsidy in October/November of 2023. If you receive a subsidy at that time, you can either receive a refund or credit to your City Shul School account right away.

EDUCATION COVENANT DURING For all children and families registered in our school in Grades 6 & 7

In keeping with City Shul’s Covenant of Membership, we agree to:  Attend City Shul services and/or events as follows:

Grade 6: • 6 Shabbat (Saturday morning) services 

Grade 7 (BM): • 8 Shabbat (Saturday morning) services AND attendance at the BM Shabbaton

YES - We have read and agree to abide by the Education Covenant 
NO - We are members of another synagogue (and therefore will be attending services at our own synagogue)

 

I hereby agree and give my permission for the City Shul and School and or partners to record, film, photograph, audiotape or videotape my child's image, student work, and performance for the purpose of publishing, posting on the City Shul website, and posting on social media sites. Children's names will NOT be published in any way without additional consent from parents.

Periodically, students are engaged in curricular activities that occur off school property in the immediate community, but within walking distance of the school.  Some examples of these activities are walking to the library, the local park, Wolfond Centre, Jewish walking tour of the neighbourhood.

The Director will approve these activities and teacher supervision will be provided at all times.  Whenever possible, parents/ guardians will be notified in advance by email.

Payment agreement for each applicant at the time of registration.

City Shul Cancellation Policy: After September 1, 2023 tuition is completely non-refundable and considered a charitable donation. No exceptions will be made to this policy. The cancellation fees are as follows:

Withdrawal from program in writing:
Prior to July 1, 2023: $150 administration fee per child
Between July 1 and August 31, 2023: 50% of year tuition per child
After September 1, 2023: Full tuition fee per child (no refund)

Charitable Donation

Please consider making an additional donation at this time to City Shul School. A tax receipt will be given for the full amount of your donation. Thank you for your support.
