Israel, being a Jewish and Middle Eastern country, is a food lover’s

dream--its kitchens are a meeting point of history, culture, tradition,

and innonation. 

Join artist, educator, psychologist, and Rabbi Dr. Avi Rose, who will explore the story of Israeli food and how it is reflected in the visual culture of a nation whose leader famously held high level government meetings in what was dubbed “The Kitchen Cabinet”

Israel Engagement Presents:  Havdalah & Film Evening

On Saturday December 10th, join us for a unique event, in 3 parts:

1.  630 PM:    Havdalah service, led by Rabbi Goldstein - on ZOOM

2.  7:00PM:    View the film "LET IT BE MORNING" in your home, while                                     you enjoy dinner or a nosh :)

3. 9:00 PM:    After the film ends, we will meet back on ZOOM for a                                         discussion about the film, led by Rabbi Goldstein

Film synopsis:

“LET IT BE MORNING” is an award-winning Israeli film. A smart, funny, dark story of a Palestinian-born Israeli citizen, who is living in Jerusalem and visits his home village for his brother’s wedding. He is trapped there after the army seals it off.


Ophir Award winner for best Israeli film 2021.  Official submission of Israel for the 'Best International Feature Film' category of the 54th Academy Awards in 2022.

1. Members only 

2. The film is in Hebrew, with English subtitles

3. The cost is $10 per screen.  Our license agreement limits us to 40 screens, so please do not share this link

4. The ZOOM links and the link to the film will be sent out on Friday, December 9th

5. The film is 1 hour and 40 minutes, which allows time to serve dinner :)
