About City Shul School

City Shul School is a part time Jewish learning experience for children from JK to pre-Bnai'Mitzvah (Grade 7) where your child gets to connect to their religious and cultural history with the goal of empowering the next generation to make decisions about what being Jewish means to them.

Students can expect to be able to explore Judaism through a multi-faceted, experiential lens. You can give your child the opportunity to get their hands dirty through art and music and to experience ritual and holiday traditions with their peers. Students also get to dive into the community around them through student-initiated projects allowing them to experience and partake in Tikkun Olam, or what it means to give back.

We have created curriculum that speaks directly to the heart of modern, reform Judaism and have turned our people's rich history into approachable, fun, and engaging lessons for your children.

Registration for the 2025/26 school year opens in Spring of 2025.

Curriculum

Our curriculum is designed to grow with our students, nurturing a deep and personal connection to Jewish life.

Our youngest student's get to deeply explore the practices of being Jewish, focusing on Jewish holidays and traditions, such as Shabbat and Purim. They discover how, from these traditions and stories, Jewish values have guided our people’s paths to the present.

As students approach their B'nai Mitzvah, they are encouraged to take greater ownership of their Jewish journey, exploring what Judaism means to them in a meaningful and personal way.

In addition to their regularly scheduled classes, every student participates in a biweekly music lessons and Hebrew reading, enhancing their connection to Jewish culture and language, deepened further by school-wide holiday celebrations.

We take pride in creating lasting memories and reinforcing the joy of Jewish learning while providing our students with the opportunity to build a new community of their own.
